Implementation effect of nursing intervention guided by timing theory on patients with gastrointestinal tumor
Objective To analyze the application effect of nursing intervention guided by timing theory on patients with gastrointestinal tumor. Methods A total of 88 patients with gastrointestinal cancer admitted to the Department of General Surgery of Wuxi People's Hospital from February 2022 to February 2023 were selected as study subjects.According to the principle of comparability of basic characteristics between groups, they were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 44 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing interventions, while the observation group received nursing interventions guided by timing theory. The level of cancer-related fatigue, perceived stress, stigma and meaning in life were compared between the two groups. Results Before nursing, there were no statistically significant differences in Cancer Fatigue Scale(CFS),Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(CPSS),Stigma Scale for Chronic Illness(SSCI)and the Meaning in Life Scale for Cancer Patients(C-MiLS)between the two groups(P>0.05).Ninety days after discharge, the CFS score of patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the CPSS score of patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the SSCI score of patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the each dimension scores of C-MiLS in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of nursing intervention guided by timing theory in patients with gastrointestinal cancer. It not only alleviates the cancer-related fatigue, reduces perceived stress level and stigma but also enhances the sense of meaning in life for these patients.
