Study on Ultrasonic-assisted Extraction and Antioxidant Activity of Polysaccharides from Panope generosa
Ultrasonic method was employed to extract polysaccharides from Panope generosa. Effect of ultrasonic time, temperature and solid-liquid ratio on the extraction of polysaccharides from Panope generosa were exampled. Furthermore, orthogonal experiment was applied to obtain the optimum extraction condition. The concentration of polysaccharides from Panope generosa was determined by anthrone method. The total antioxidant activity and capability to scavenge hy-droxyl radicals of the polysaccharides from Panope generosa were tested using commercial kits. The main factor affecting extracting rate of polysaccharides was solid-liquid ratio, followed by ultrasonic time and temperature. The optimum extraction conditions to obtain the highest polysaccharides were 60 1C ,30 min and solid-liquid ratio of 1: 12. Both the total antioxidant activity and scavenging capability of polysaccharides were obviously related to the concentrations. It indicated that ultrasonic method was a very effective method of polysaccharides extraction and the polysaccharides have good antioxidant activity at a high concentration.
