Sichuan Basin is the third largest petroliferous onshore basin in China,whose conventional and shale gas re-sources rank on top in this country.In Sichuan-Chongqing area where is endowed with natural-gas resource advantage,there exists huge development potential and space in the natural-gas industry.Thus,the current pipeline network was in-vestigated for this area in order to push the development of natural gas in the basin.And then,taking needs for technical and economic evaluation of the newly built pipelines as objectives,we presented not only the main influential factors on the economic evaluation but technical and economic characteristics.Results show that(ⅰ)there are three historical reasons to develop into this network,such as the natural-gas resource distribution as well as development and construction order,the promotion of field integrated management modes and the complementary role of markets;(ⅱ)the network boasts 4 sorts of superiority,namely,opening-up and cultivating markets,promoting diversified utilization and industrial clustering,en-hancing safe supply guarantee,and forming a complete and developed industrial chain;(ⅲ)affecting the economic evalua-tion,two factors contain the spider-web pipeline network structure as the key to shape multiple functions of new pipelines and the diversified investment subjects as the main driving force to reflect numerous functions of pipelines;and(ⅳ)both enterprise efficiency and social benefits should be fully taken into consideration during an overall arrangement of these new pipelines.And the efficiency and benefits are estimated by two methods,one location theory of gas-consumption enterpris-es decided by transportation costs and the other of gas suppliers as the result of investment costs.
