Research on drilling and completion technology of dense cluster thermal recovery well in the Bohai Sea
CNOOC Bohai Oilfield boasts abundant heavy oil reserves, with proven geological reserves accounting for 56%of the total in the Bohai Oilfield.Due to the high viscosity and poor fluidity of heavy oil,its development is challenging and its utilization is low.Addressing the issues encountered during the drilling and completion of 350℃high-intensity steam huff and puff dense cluster thermal production well, such as limited platform/wellhead space, high collision risk due to small well spacing, difficulty in designing low-cost well structure, short sand control effectiveness period, and safety control in multi-round injection and production, etc.,through research,a series of supporting technologies for drilling and completion of dense cluster thermal recovery wells in the Bohai Sea have been initially developed. These includes domestic gyroscope-based active trajectory control, well profile optimization in the process of high build-up rate, engineering geology integrated safe drilling through faults, cementing, pipe selection, integrated injection and production wellhead, comprehensive evaluation of sand control effectiveness, and the development of high-temperature and long-term sand control pipe string and key tools. This ensures the large-scale and cost-effective development of heavy oil in Bohai Sea.
