Study on fault analysis and identification of key equipment in hydrogen refueling stations
The hydrogen refueling station,as one of the crucial infrastructures in the hydrogen energy industry,is mainly used for safe refueling of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and serves as a vital hub connecting upstream hydrogen production and downstream applications in the industry chain. This study examines the operating conditions involving key equipment in hydrogen refueling stations.Taking into consideration a three-year failure type analysis of a specific station, this paper delves into the potential failures of high-failure-rate components such as compressors, hydrogen dispensers, and pipe valves. It is found that the most common failures include compressor seal failure, leakage at valve joints inside the hydrogen dispenser, abnormal valve operations of the whole station and gas leaks in pipe valves. It is proposed that monitoring specific pressure drops and the rate of these pressure drops under different working conditions can help identify leaks, and that the severity of leaks can be determined based on the rate of pressure drop.Such an analysis and identification of critical equipment can aid in early hydrogen leak detection, facilitate optimal scheduling of inspections and maintenance, effectively shorten the duration of unplanned downtime, and lower the operational and maintenance costs for hydrogen refueling station.
