The Influence of Local Government Governance on the Agglomeration of Knowledge-intensive Service Industries
Taking 283 cities in China from 2008 to 2020 as the research object, this paper uses the fixed-effect model to test the overall and regional differentiated effects of various dimensions of local government governance on the agglomeration of knowledge-intensive service industries.Meanwhile, two intermediary variables of market demand and technological innovation are introduced to analyze the path mechanism of local government governance affecting the agglomeration of knowledge-intensive service industries. The results show that:(1)The improvement of local government governance ability significantly promotes the agglomeration of knowledge-intensive service industries.(2)In different regions, the influence of local government governance on the agglomeration of knowledge-intensive service industries is quite different.(3)Both market demand and technological innovation play a mediating role in the influence of local government governance on the agglomeration of knowledge-intensive service industries.Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward corresponding policy recommendations at the national and regional levels respectively:First,we should strengthen the construction of the external environment of the industry and build the basic support of high-quality agglomeration of knowledge-intensive service industries;Second,we should fully stimulate the market potential and accelerate the high-quality integrated development of industries.Third,it is necessary to enhance the agglomeration ability of innovation factors and promote the rational agglomeration of knowledge-intensive service industries.Fourth, each region should base on the reality of accurate policies to optimize the industrial agglomeration structure.
