Heat Island Effect Mitigation by Urban Green Space System:A Case Study of Taizhou City
In order to clarify the impact of urban green space types and their combination on urban thermal environment, the relevant data including green space types and land surface temperature are acquired by field survey and remote sensing, and the cooling effects of green space types and their combination are analyzed using statistical method in this study. The results show that: (1) the cooling effects of woods and mixed green spaces outperform that of grassland and bare land, but they are more susceptible to a range of surrounding distribution of green spaces; (2) the cooling effects of various green space types have significant difference in the different urban functional areas; and (3) to reduce light intensity and increase air humidity may be one of the main mechanisms for cooling. Those results can provide technical support and scientific reference to understand the cooling effect of different types of green space, guide and quantitatively evaluate the planning and construction of urban green space system.
