摘要
作为中国古代典籍的杰出代表,《道德经》在优美的诗化语言中蕴含了深邃而丰富的哲学思想.文章在深度翻译理论框架下,以北京大学辜正坤教授和英国汉学家亚瑟·韦利翻译的《道德经》中的"道"与"德"为例,探究中外学者在中国古代典籍英译中的深度翻译现象及其对于文化传播的重要意义.
Abstract
As an outstanding representative of ancient Chinese classics,Dao De Jing embod-ies rich and profound philosophical thoughts within its poetic language.Under the frame-work of thick translation theory,this article examines the translations of"Dao"and"De"in Dao De Jing by Professor Gu Zhengkun from Peking University and British sinologist Ar-thur Waley.It explores the phenomenon of thick translation by Chinese and foreign scholars in the English translation of ancient Chinese classics and the significance for cultural dissemination.
