Enhancing Audiovisual Collections Repository Construction in University Libraries:A Study on ⅢF A/V Specifications and Avalon System
With the continuous improvement of China's network infrastructure,audiovisual media has gained significant popularity among the younger generation,posing challenges for libraries primarily focused on textual resources.This study aims to explore the current status of audiovisual resource collections construction in domestic and international university libraries.Taking inspiration from the successful experiences of the ⅢF specification in managing image resources and the practices of various audiovisual preservation communities,this research proposes a method for audiovisual resource management in Chinese university libraries based on the ⅢF A/V and open-source software.An empirical study is conducted by analyzing the practices of audiovisual resource preservation,streaming media publication,timeline bubble annotation,transcription,audiovisual structuring,and open sharing at East China Normal University Library.
