A Comparative Study on the Characteristics of Highly Downloaded Journals and Lowly Downloaded Journals in Foreign Language Databases of Chinese University Libraries
The construction of digital resources has become a key attention in the library and information science community.Taking the Capital Normal University Library as an example,this study analyzes the basic characteristics of highly downloaded journals and lowly downloaded journals in different databases.This study suggests that the number of downloads can be used as a metric for optimizing library collections.It is necessary to further explore the specific reasons for lowly downloaded journals,compile virtual albums of journals with high and low downloads,strengthen the multidimensional analysis of journal usage reports,and pay attention to the influence of different users'preferences on digital resource usage in different disciplines.
