Research on Semantic Representation and Organization Structure of Narrative Information
[Purpose/Significance]The narrative is the most important mode for the communication of knowledge or information among humans. In the age of digital intelligence, the semantic modeling, formal representation and organization of narrative are the basis and premise of computer processing, understanding and generating narrative information, and also help scholars to better understand and analyze narratives.[Design/Methodology]This article investigates the semantic representation models for narrative information in different fields at home and abroad, analyzes the core elements and compositions of those models, and also summarizes the organization structures of narrative information from the perspective of information organization.[Findings/Conclusion]It is found that there are significant differences and complexities in the semantic representation of narrative information, which are influenced by various factors such as underlying theories, application domains, media forms, etc. In addition, the organization structure of narrative information can be generally classified into two categories:event/time-based organization logic and structure/mechanism-based organization logic[Originality/Value]This article provides a systematic summary of the semantic representation and information organization of narrative in various domains, which is helpful to promote the understanding of narrative and semantic interoperability of narrative information.
