Chengtai Village was renamed Sanniangniangmiao Village,which reflects the natural and cultural environment and its evolution of the village.The name of Chengtai records the natural and cultural characteris-tics of the"platform"and"city"of the village.During the late Ming and early Qing dynasty,when the post road opened,the village became the key point to cross the Da Wenhe river.Sanniangniang Temple,which has the duty of ensuring the safety of crossing the river,had its importance highlighted.Besides,when the imperi-al envoy in Kangxi Period,Wang Shizhen visited the village,he wrote poems for the goddess,hence the influ-ence of the temple increased,which made the temple as the unique identity of the village.So Chengtai Village naturally changed its name to Sanniangniangmiao Village.
