Research on Buddhist Scriptures and Images transported from Jiangnan Area to Shandong during the Song and Yuan Dynasties
During the Song and Yuan dynasties,the Buddhist community in Shandong had close contact with the Jiangnan area,and through the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Yellow River joint transportation,the written or engraved Buddhist sutras and the gold,copper and wooden statues of Buddha arrived at the rele-vant monasteries in Jiangnan,which favorably promoted the cultural exchanges of Buddhism between the north and the south.
