The phenomenon of backward binding in English psych verb constructions violates the c-command conditions in Binding Theory.This paper employs the phase theory to provide further solutions and theoretical support.After binding requirements are satisfied at LF,since the light verb is affixal,it triggers movement of the verb from original position in V to v.By virtue of edge feature of light verb,THEME argument moves to the edge of vP and participate in the computation of next phase.It raises to Spec-TP and can be assigned nominative Case.
