Analysis of the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in the medical examination population of a tertiary hospital in Anhui province
Objective:To understand the detection of metabolic syndrome in the population of a tertiary hospital and analyze its epidemiological characteristics,so as to provide a basis for guiding the prevention and treatment work in this region. Methods:A total of 8,381 adults who participated in medical check-ups in a tertiary hospital in 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and data on age, gender, height, weight, fasting blood glucose, blood lipids, blood pressure and other medical check-ups were collected to compare the detection rate of metabolic syndrome and its components in the different genders and age groups of medical check-ups.Results:The detection rate of metabolic syndrome in the study population was 13.47%,including 18.18%in men and 6.73%in women, which was higher in men than in women(P<0.005),and it also showed an increasing trend with age.The detection rates of the four components of metabolic syndrome were 34.51%(obesity),33.06%(dyslipidemia),26.27%(hypertension),and 17.79%(hyperglycaemia),with dyslipidemia and obesity being more commonly detected than hypertension and hyperglycaemia. Conclusion:The detection rate of metabolic syndrome in the adult health check-up population of a tertiary hospital in Anhui Province should not be underestimated, and intervention efforts should be strengthened in high-risk groups and healthy lifestyles should be promoted with a view to reducing the occurrence of metabolic syndrome.
