Research on the influence of doctor-patient trust level on the choice of medical treatment
Objective:To broaden the channels through which factors influencing healthcare choices are considered, including social factors,in order to provide insights for the allocation of medical resources, expedited development of tiered healthcare, and upgrades to public healthcare networks. Methods:Employing OLS regression models,a comprehensive analysis of the impact of social trust, individual, family, and regional factors on healthcare choices was conducted.Heterogeneity analysis was performed with a propensity score matching(PSM)model. Results:A negative correlation was observed between the trust level of doctors and patients and healthcare choices, with higher individual trust in doctors leading to a greater inclination toward seeking healthcare at primary care facilities. Conclusion:Higher levels of trust between doctors and patients can guide the downward distribution of medical resources.Policy support and strengthened medical collaboration can accelerate the development of primary healthcare.
