Research on the current situation and influencing factors of self-management behavior of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in rural areas of Anhui Province
Objective:To investigate the status and influencing factors of self-management behavior in rural patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods:In this study,a total of 258 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected by multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling, and the demographic characteristics,self-management behaviors,self-management efficacy,self-management attitudes and other indicators were investigated by a unified design questionnaire, and the self-management status and influencing factors of patients with type 2 diabetes in rural areas were analyzed by nonparametric test and multivariate binary logistics regression. Results:The self-management behavior formation rate of diabetic patients in rural areas was 37.2%,among which the formation rate of eating behavior(74.0%)and medication adherence was the highest(74.0%),followed by exercise(40.7%)and blood glucose monitoring behavior(26.0%).The most important factors influencing patients'self-management behavior were disease course(P<0.05),self-management attitude(P<0.05)and self-efficacy(P<0.05).Through the nonparametric analysis of the influence of self-management attitude and self-efficacy on self-management behavior, all items of self-management attitude(P<0.05)had an impact on self-management behavior, including three meals per day(P<0.05),appropriate food choosing(P<0.05),daily exercising(P<0.05),avoiding hypoglycemia during exercise(P<0.05),and normal treatment when blood glucose was abnormal(P<0.05).The self-efficacy of knowing what to do to see a doctor(P<0.05)had an impact on self-management behavior. Conclusion:The formation rate of self-management behavior in rural patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is low,and the course of the disease,self-management attitude, and self-efficacy are the main factors affecting self-management behavior.
