"Dazi"Sociality:Communication Alienation from the Perspective of Social Acceleration Criticism Theory
The critique of social acceleration theory originates from the relationship between individuals and their world, diagnosing contemporary society as an"accelerated society".This paper adopts the critique of social acceleration theory as a new perspective to interpret modern social interactions, focusing on the prevalent internet phenomenon of"Dazi"sociality. It reflects on the alienation of the spatiotemporal dimensions of social interactions, the actions within these interactions, and the subjects involved, due to the acceleration of technological progress, societal changes, and the pace of life. The paper evaluates the actions and logic behind the"resonance"solution proposed by social acceleration critique theory to mitigate the alienation of social interactions, along with its applicability and limitations in the face of the profound reality of alienated social interactions. It suggests practical enhancements to the"resonance"solution from conceptual, institutional, and technological perspectives.
