A Study of International Spatial Expansion of"Sister Cities"in Taiwan,China
The expansion of the so-called"international space"has been a consistent tactic of the Taiwan authorities in the maintenance of the separatist stance of"Taiwan independence"and the manipulation of"externalism for independence".Against the background of the intensifying Sino-US strategic game and the sharp deterioration in cross-strait relations,the DPP authorities have been playing the"urban diplomacy"card,seeking to develop substantial relations with the US,Japan and other key states,and to expand their political,economic and social space through the creation of"sister cities"and other non-politicized measures,with some success.Taiwan's promotion of the construction of sister cities has become an important way for the Taiwan authorities to conduct"official diplomacy"through"unofficial channels",and a means to promote"implicit Taiwan independence".Not only will it easily become a pawn and a tool for the US and Japan to"use Taiwan to checkmate China",but it will also circumvent the"one China"principle,interfere with our normal diplomacy and the Belt and Road Initiative,and even tarnish China's international image,which should be of great concern.
