An Analysis of the Democratic Progressive Party's Election Cognition War
Taiwan is an electoral society, and elections are an important means for political parties to seize power and allocate resources. The DPP is not only good at electoral offense and defense, but also uses its governing resources to carry out cognitive warfare in elections in an attempt to influence the voting tendencies of voters, especially median voters,so as to ultimately win the election.Among the major political parties in Taiwan, the Democratic Progressive Party can be said to be the first party to carry out extensive cognitive warfare in elections, and form an electoral cognitive warfare and operating mechanism based on different carrier types such as think tanks, polls, and media. The DPP's electoral cognition war seems to be based on just an election campaign, but the impact and influence of this behavior on cross-Straits relations cannot be ignored, especially the cross-Straits integrated development policy that the Mainland is currently promoting. It poses a great challenge. This is something we need to be highly vigilant and concerned about.
