The Generation Consciousness and Cultural Characteristics of Taiwanese Youth in the New Century
Since the new century,the generation upsurge in Taiwan society has shown the new cultural trend and generation consciousness of Taiwan youth.Generation discussion with Taiwanese youth as the main body mainly presents three paradigms:generational change and generation identity from the perspective of late modern society,the failed youth generation from the perspective of generation conflict,and the value expression from the perspective of youth counterculture.It can be seen that youth and previous generations,mainstream discourse,traditional culture,etc.have always been in a fractured and tense relationship.This inherent contradiction,on the surface,appears as the value conflict and rupture between generations,as well as the struggle for interests and power,but in essence,it is the reflection of multiple internal and external crises and historical problems in Taiwan society in the new century.In the face of the new situation of The Times,the young generation has diversified thoughts and responses from the aspects of nationality,history,gender,memory,identity,etc.,presenting multiple dimensions of cultural consciousness such as multi-conflict identity and historical imagination,social movement boom and the revival of left-wing consciousness,the change of media and new cultural forms,and the consciousness of loss of roots and dispersion under the tide of globalization.Therefore,to understand the specific patterns of Taiwan's youth culture closely and reflect on the ideological logic behind it is the key to grasp the new trend of thought in Taiwan society and explore a new social road.
