Macao's Role in Cross-Strait Integrated Development:Practical Implications,Exploration,and Policy Recommendations
The cross-Strait integrated development as a fundamental social project for the peaceful reunification of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait,is continuing to deepen.However,in practice,the role and function of Hong Kong and Macao are often being ignored,and the unique advantages of Macao,in particular,have yet to be fully explored.Taking Macau's participation in the practice of the cross-Strait integrated development as a logical starting point,this paper analyzes in depth the rationality and feasibility of Macao's participation in the cross-Strait integrated development.It is found that Macao can play the roles of an example,a platform and an adhesive in the practice of the cross-Strait integrated development,and that Macao's unique advantages in the social,ethnic,financial and institutional aspects can be manifested on the basis of its unique political guarantee,institutional foundation and social foundation.This article suggested that Macao can help deepen the cross-Strait integrated development in all fields through the exchanges of associations,Mazu culture,exchanges of think tanks,and the Hengqin-Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone.
