Research on the Application of Directional Elements in Feeder Automation
In order to improve the power supply reliability of distribution network,feeder automation has been widely used and popularized.With the improvement of power supply reliability,a new feeder automation mode with certain advantages,such as"voltage time type+relay protection",has appeared,which has shortened the fault handling time to some extent.However,there are some defects in this mode,such as the loss of selectivity of the original protection and the expansion of the power outage range when a new fault occurs after the contact transfer.Based on the field operation experience,the optimized directional element is added into the feeder automation mode of"voltage time type+relay protection",and the original 3-segment protection is extended to 6-segment protection.The first 3 segments are configured according to the topology before contact transfer,and the last 3 segments are configured according to the topology after contact transfer.By judging the directional element when a fault occurs,it is decided whether to open the first 3 segments or the last 3 segments,which solves the problem of loss of selectivity of protection after contact transfer,shortens the fault handling time and improves the efficiency.
