A Review of the Impact of Large-Scale Photovoltaic Power Generation on Power Systems
This paper systematically explores the various impacts of photovoltaic power generation grid-connected systems and their large-scale integration on the characteristics of power systems. In terms of active frequency characteristics, the integration of photovoltaic systems reduces the equivalent inertia of the power system, increases the system's sensitivity to frequency disturbances, and enhances the dynamic response of the system frequency.Regarding reactive voltage characteristics, the integration of photovoltaic power generation systems may cause reactive power deficiency, affecting voltage stability, and requiring the use of reactive power compensation devices. In terms of small disturbance stability, the intermittency and uncertainty of photovoltaic systems cause transient fluctuations in system frequency and voltage, requiring effective regulation measures. Finally,in terms of distribution system protection, requirements for traditional overcurrent and short-circuit protection are introduced,as well as advanced protection devices and strategies to address new issues introduced by photovoltaic systems.
