Fault Localization Method for Distribution Network Operation and Maintenance Based on Fiber Optic Communication Technology
Frequent failures in the distribution network create significant challenges for operation and maintenance. This paper proposes a new method for fault location in distribution network inspection using fiber optic communication technology. The method uses optical time-domain reflectometry,Brillouin scattering, and wavelength division multiplexing technology to monitor the entire distribution network optical cable in real-time and locate faults precisely.Simulation experiments show that this method can accurately identify typical faults such as fiber breaks, joints, and bends. The location error is less than 15 m,and the temperature measurement error is less than 0.5℃.This method provides reliable technical support for intelligent operation and inspection of the distribution network.
