On the Paradigm of Recognition in Marx's Aesthetic Vision
In Marx's view, the aesthetic characteristics of human beings are manifested in the recognition of mediation within productive practice. For one thing, recognition makes one affirm his own beauty and the essence of his life. For another, through mutual recognition, people develop a social understanding of the essence of beauty.Aesthetic liberation is a key component of Marx's vision of human liberation. However,in reality, the aesthetic impoverishment and aesthetic ideology illusion of capitalists and work-ers originate from the capitalist mode of production.Starting from the very actual relations of capitalist so-ciety,Marx points out that the capitalist mode of production must be eliminated to fundamentally liberate all the sensory characteristics of beauty from the alienated relations of recognition. In this sense, aesthetic liberation means that the recognition as a goal has been integrated into the essence of human emancipa-tion,while the recognition as a means(intermediary)has completed its historical mission and been com-pletely sublated.
