Exploring the Path of Promoting the Sports Industry as a Pillar Industry of the National Economy through the Business Environment—Empirical Evidence from 19 Provinces,Autonomous Region and Municipality across the Country
The business environment is the institutional guarantee for the sports industry to become a pillar industry of the national e-conomy.Starting from the perspective of configuration,taking the real situation of sports industry development in 19 provinces,au-tonomous region and municipality in China as a sample case,using qualitative comparative analysis method,this paper reveals the di-versified paths of promoting the sports industry to become a pillar industry of the national economy through the business environ-ment.Research suggests that the sports industry becoming a pillar industry of the national economy is the result of multiple concur-rent factors in the business environment,with market environment,innovation environment,and cultural environment as core condi-tions,forming the"innovation/cultural"single wheel driving path,"market innovation"dual wheel driving path,and"market inno-vation cultural"triple wheel driving path that promote the development of the sports industry.Further research has found that there are significant differences in the configuration paths of how the business environment promotes the development of the sports indus-try in different formats(sports services and sports manufacturing)and regions(eastern and non eastern regions).Finally,it is pro-posed to adhere to market leadership,innovation driven,and humanistic empowerment,and to build a high standard market system,efficient innovation ecology,and high-level opening-up for the sports industry.
