A study on the Impact of Cross-Border Data Flow Restrictions on Digital Service Trade Between China and RCEP Countries
To promote the high-quality development of China's digital service trade, this paper, based on panel data from year 2010 to 2020,systematically examined the impact of cross-border data flow restrictions in the RCEP region on China's digital ser-vice trade. The research conclusion shows that there is a significant spatial clustering feature in the data flow restrictions among RCEP countries, and the area of a country is positively correlated to the cross-border data flow restrictions. There is also a signifi-cant spatial spillover effect in China's digital service trade within the RCEP region, which can weaken the negative impact of cross-border data flow restrictions.Island countries within the RCEP are more willing to engage in digital service trade with other countries due to their isolation location, which should draw China's attention.
