A Reconfigurable Radio Frequency Filter MMIC with Frequency and Bandwidth Tuning Ability
In this paper,an active reconfigurable filter chip with tunable frequency and bandwidth is designed and implemen-ted based on 0.25 μm gallium arsenide pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor process. The channelized filter structure with two channels are adopted in this filter topology. In each channel,a cascaded form of three stages wideband amplifiers and two stages tuning resonance networks is employed. The tuning of frequency and bandwidth is implemented by synchronous and asyn-chronous control of the resonance networks frequencies in the channel, and the wide tuning ratio of center frequency is achieved through the switching combination of the channels with different working frequencies. In order to verify the effectiveness of the de-sign,the filter chip is fabricated, and the chip size is 3.1 mm×3.0 mm.The experimental results show that the tuning range of center frequency is2.52 GHz~3.92 GHz,and the frequency tuning ratio reaches 54%.The bandwidth in the channel can be changed between 350 MHz~1 080 MHz,and the relative bandwidth tuning range is 12%~33%.The wide range tuning a-bilities of frequency and bandwidth are demonstrated in the reconfigurable filter chip.
