摘要
《塔楼》是美国当代女作家珍妮弗·伊根的第三部长篇小说,小说糅合了哥特、超现实、荒诞、爱情等多种元素,表现死亡、救赎等多重主题.从《塔楼》中的核心隐喻——容器隐喻入手,分析容器隐喻在小说故事情节、人物心理状态和叙事结构等三方面的作用,探讨隐喻叙事对小说文本意义的构建.
Abstract
The Keep,the third novel by contemporary American female writer Jennifer Egan,combines such elements as Gothic,surrealism,absurdity and love,portraying multiple themes,like death and redemption.This paper will focus on container metaphors,the core ones in the novel,and analyze the functions container metaphors on the plot,characterization and narrative structure in the novel,in order to have a better understanding of the effect of metaphorical narration on the construction of the meaning of the novel.
