Transformation and Reinvention:Practice Path and Inspiration of Digital Governance in American University——Based on the Example of Arizona State University
Digital empowerment of university governance is a key issue in the digital transformation of higher education and a currently hot issue in the construction of university information technology.Arizona State University's digital governance goals focus on enhanc-ing the university's endogenous dynamics,supporting the continued expansion of the uni-versity's size,and promoting sustainable innovation.Arizona State University builds a digi-tal governance system from four aspects:adaptive governance concepts,distributed gover-nance structures,open governance procedures and preventive governance norms.At the same time,digital governance at Arizona State University strongly promotes the university's digital teaching and learning development,the construction and operation of digital manage-ment systems,digital campus construction,as well as serving the regional digital develop-ment by focusing on the two main subjects of teachers and students,based on the actual needs and efficiency and safety,promoting the improvement of infrastructure and product development,and facilitating the interactive cooperation and practice participation and oth-er digital governance actions.Based on the digital governance experience of Arizona State University,the digital governance of universities in China should be based on the mission objectives and development needs of universities,and take the path of combining long-term planning and short-term priorities,giving equal weight to flexibility and agility and stan-dardization and controllability,as well as focusing on playing a synergistic and innovative role as a technical subject,in order to promote digital governance practices.
