The Synergistic and Symbiotic Relationships of the New Graduate School of Education in Ameri-can Teacher Education Reform
Providing high-quality teachers to all schools is the common vision for teacher education reform in various countries.In recent years,there has been a growing call to reform traditional teacher education.It leads to an increasing influence of market forces in the field of teacher education in the United States.Teacher education thus shows the characteristics of collaborative development,including diverse development of training sub-jects,customization of teacher training programs,and emphasis on practice-oriented profes-sional certification standards.As an emerging provider of teacher education in the United States,the new Graduate School of Education addresses the needs of cooperative schools/specific subject areas for faculty supply and applicants.It designs courses based on the inte-gration of theory and practice across multiple fields,and employs evidence-based formative assessment,effectively integrating various forces into pre-service teacher training.This new model provides insights for China to explore a diverse collaborative teacher education sup-port system,related and symbiotic curriculum design,and implementation of evidence-based formative assessment.
