To curb the Trend of Low Fertility Rate:A Values Education Strategy by Japanese Family Science Subject
Faced with problem of increasing low fertility rate,Japan has planned to carry out values education in family science curriculum in primary and secondary schools with the aim of curbing this trend.Since the beginning of the 21st century,the Japanese gov-ernment has designed clear educational content on family,fertility,and gender perspectives for family science subject through plannings,policies and the curriculum standards.In terms of teaching methods,the Japanese family science subject mainly enhance the aware-ness of family and marriage among young people through practical household skills,the edu-cation cooperation between men and women,and school community collaboration.In recent years,the problem of low fertility rate in China has become increasingly prominent,and there is an urgent need to carry out targeted values education for young people.The Chinese government needs to carry out targeted value education for young people,establish and ad-vocate positive attitudes towards marriage and childbirth throughout society,and play an im-portant role in promoting sustainable population development through education.
