Research on the Data and Information Functions and Mechanisms of State-Level Higher Educa-tion Administrative Institutions in the United States in the Information Age——Taking Georgia,Tennessee,and Texas as Examples
In the digital age,department for education needs to implement the nation-al education digitization strategic action.For a long time,the existence of information asym-metry has seriously restricted the governance efficiency of provincial education administra-tive departments.Data information is the key variable of national governance reform in the digital age.In theory,it can help the education administrative department to fully grasp the information and alleviate the information asymmetry,so as to optimize the efficiency of edu-cation governance.Through a case study of the single policy initiatives of state higher edu-cation governance institutions in Georgia,Tennessee and Texas to improve the completion rate of university degrees,it is found that the state higher education governance institutions in the United States play a pivotal role in the"supply side"and"demand side"of the data flow,and are data information intermediaries connecting state policymakers and the higher education sector.Provincial education administrative departments should establish the val-ue goals of public welfare services for educational data governance,strengthen their own ability to extract data information,and enhance their data information application capabili-ties.
