Abstract
Doug Lemov is an important representative of practice-based teacher edu-cation in the United States.His concept of teaching techniques,as advocated in"Teach Like a Champion",is primarily focused on a practice-based educational philosophy,emphasiz-ing continuous improvement of teaching skills and methods through practice and reflection.Lemov believes that teaching is a great profession that requires specific,concrete,and ac-tionable techniques,while also being an art.The art of this noble profession relies on mas-tery and application of foundational skills,or"craft",which can be attained through diligent learning.Lemov's ideas in teacher education are an essential component of practice-based teacher education in the United States.His approach to teacher training,based on a deregu-lative standpoint,has innovative and rational aspects that are applicable to addressing spe-cific educational issues in the United States.However,there are also some notable short-comings,such as the potential risk of deviating from or even losing educational theory,in-sufficient recognition of the professionalism,complexity,and diversity of teacher education,and a lack of value reasoning and theoretical foundation.Furthermore,his ideas themselves exhibit a strong dependency on background context.
