Discourse Institutionalism in Comparative Edu-cation:An Investigation Connecting the Global with the Local Theory
As the"fifth"theoretical system of new institutionalism,discourse institu-tionalism in comparative education has gradually formed and developed.Discourse institu-tionalism emphasizes the content of concepts and discourses and their interaction process as the main analytical perspective to explain the changes of institutions and policies,which not only responds to the research theory in comparative education,but also allows compara-tive education to carry out research in the realistic situation that today's educational reform is affected by the dynamic development of the international community.In comparative edu-cation,discourse institutionalism can reveal the complex interaction between global and lo-cal educational discourses,pay attention to the re-contextualization process of educational reform from global to local in comparative education,and emphasize that comparative edu-cation pays attention to the dynamic scene of interaction between global and local micro-discourses.The discourse institutionalism in comparative education is helpful for compara-tive education to pay attention to the actors behind educational policies and institutional changes,bridge the gap between the global and the local in comparative education research in the era of globalization,and let comparative education researchers pay attention to the in-fluence of micro-forces on educational systems and policies at the macro level.Finally,the paper discusses the research routs of discourse institutionalism in comparative education,and analyzes a cases.Facing the future,integrating the analytical perspective of power,com-bining other research methods and cooperating with world cultural theories will probably be-come the development direction of discourse institutionalism in comparative education.
