Since Friedrich Kittler's groundbreaking research in the 1980s,media archaeology,as a nomadic interdisciplinary trend of thought, has spread throughout the humanities circles in Europe and the United States, and has greatly promoted the shift of media technology in humanities research in the digital age.Under the influence of Foucault's archaeology and genealogy approach, media archaeology is an intellectual strategy to open up alternative futures by excavating historical genealogy of materiality, and its basic characteristics are anti-linear time perspective and anti-hermeneutic criticism. However,in the process of practice, media archaeology has gradually embarked on the path of de-historicization and de-politicization,and the increasing popularity of media archaeology itself also symptomatically highlights the dilemma faced by the Western humanities circles in the digital age.
