多模态翻译认知研究的演进与展望

摘要
多模态翻译认知研究的演进过程以翻译认知研究和多模态翻译研究的理论与方法融合为主要特征和内容.本文在回顾翻译认知研究和多模态翻译研究的基础上,从文本类型多模态化、多模态文本认知机制分析、多模态文本翻译策略和多模态译员能力建设四个方面总结概括多模态翻译认知研究,同时指出其问题与不足,并展望未来发展趋势.研究发现:多模态翻译认知研究是多模态翻译研究和翻译认知研究融合而成的新兴翻译研究方向.目前存在研究路径单一、研究内容边界不清等问题,但未来应用领域广泛,对于新媒体时代的文化外译传播实践具有积极意义.创新之处为从宏观上全方位重新审视了多模态翻译认知研究的积极动态与未来趋势,明确指出其亟待解决的问题与不足,对多模态翻译认知研究运用批判式分析进行了科学理性的认知研究,对未来研究提供了可借鉴的趋势预判.
Abstract
The evolution of Multimodal Translation Cognition Studies(MTCS)involves the convergence of Cognitive Translation Studies(CTS)and Multimodal Translation Studies(MTS)in terms of theory and methods.Based on a review of CTS and MTS,this paper proposes that MTCS includes the following four aspects,namely the multimodal nature of text types,the mechanism of multimodal texts,multimodal translation strategies and translator training for multimodal translation.MTCS is an emerging research area in translation studies,which is based on the convergence of CTS and MTS.Despite the problems with the singularity of research approach and the clarity of research contents,MTCS has a profound potential for application and positive implications for culture translation and communication in the new media era.This paper reviews the status quo of MTCS from a scientific,critical and holistic point of view.It also discusses the problems and pitfalls of this emerging research area.The review and discussion have implications for the prospect of future research.
