This paper explores the current state of translation technology textbooks in China and investigates their weaknesses in meeting the language service industry's requirements for translation talents.Through the analysis of 29 translation technology textbooks, the study finds that there are some issues hindering these textbooks from meeting the requirements of the industry, such as not including vital technologies for interpretation and audiovisual translation, failing to develop students'abilities to learn independently and integrate translation tools, and neglecting codes of practice and risks related to translation technologies. To address these issues, the paper proposes to establish an electronic library, utilize existing resources, update codes of practice and introduce technology-related risks when writing translation technology textbooks.Implementing these solutions will help improve translation technology textbooks, better preparing students for their future translation work in the language service industry.
