Exploring the social production of emergency translation services:A case study of the translation of COVID-19:From Basics to Clinical Practice
Emergency translation services,which have a demand for efficiency and professionalism,are usually delivered through teamwork.As a result of the interaction of multiple factors,emergency translation belongs to a social activity and its translation process is worth further investigation.Taking the translation of COVID-19:From Basics to Clinical Practice as an example,this study describes the recruitment network of translators and production network of translation and analyses how different actors affect each other during the process of emergency translation based on the Actor Network Theory.This study finds that the core of the emergency translation production is extended cognition and the production mechanism of emergency translation is a combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches.
