The Practice and Challenges of UNESCO's Work on the Right to Education for All
A more inclusive, equitable and high-quality right to education for all throughout life is the key to realizing the 2030 vision for global educational development.UNESCO has long been concerned about the global right to education, and has gone through three stages of development:1)a initial period, focusing on guaranteeing the basic right to education for all,2)a developing period, focusing on advocating the right to lifelong education for all,and 3)a deepening period, focusing on the pursuit of a more inclusive, equitable and high-quality right to lifelong education for all.UNESCO has effectively promoted the development of the right to education globally through setting global standards, strengthening capacity building of governments, conducting global surveys and researches, and building bridges for international cooperation. At the same time,UNESCO's global work on the right to education is also facing multiple challenges, such as the lack of effective protection of the right to education for disadvantaged groups, the widening of the right to education gap by digital technology, and the exacerbation of the right to education crisis by climate change.
