Influence of Non-cognitive Ability Factors on Students'Academic Performance from Data Analysis
Based on the evaluation data of OECD SSES 2019,this study uses the two-level hierarchical linear model(HLM)to explore the impact of students'and school level non-cognitive factors on students'academic performance.The study found that,at the student level,personal background factors,school feelings,social and emotional ability levels have a significant impact on students'academic performance.At the school level,school atmosphere and interpersonal relationship significantly affect students'academic performance.We should pay more attention to the individual differences in students'cognitive ability and non-cognitive ability,pay attention to students'feelings in school,form a more caring school atmosphere,strengthen the construction of the support framework for the cultivation of social and emotional abilities,optimize the interpersonal relationship within the school,and promote the development of teachers'social and emotional abilities.
