Motivating and Improving the Teacher Burden Reduction Policies by Data:Monitoring Workloads of Primary and Secondary School Teachers in the UK
Workload is an indicator reflecting the burden on teachers.To address the issue of workload,it is necessary to monitor the workload of primary and secondary school teachers.As a country that has attached importance to the workload of teachers for along time,the UK government has relied on the multiple bodies of government,schools and society to conduct continuous and systematic research on teachers'workload,focusing on working hours,individual perceptions,and efficacy improvement.Through data-driven approaches,it has achieved sustained improvements in teacher workload reduction policies.Currently,China is in a period of continuous advancement of the"Double Reduction"policy,which places high demands on classroom teaching and after-school services,posing a risk of increased workload for primary and secondary school teachers.Alleviating teacher burdens has become an urgent issue in the implementation of the"Double Reduction"policy.The UK's experience in monitoring teacher workload provides important insights for China to improve the teacher workload monitoring system,accurately identify the workload status of teachers,and formulate targeted workload reduction policies for primary and secondary school teachers.
