Trends,Issues and Approaches of Teacher Training Research in the Past Decade——Comparative Analyses Based on Domestic and International Research Related to Teacher Training
In the past decade, teacher training in China has experienced remarkable development and changes, but academic researches about the practice fall far behind the rich practical activities, while international researches on teacher training has diverse and rich results and relatively mature methods.Through bibliometric analysis, this paper compares and analyzes domestic and foreign literature on teacher training in terms of research trends, hot topics, and major research methods, with the aim of making targeted suggestions for upgrading the level of teacher training researches in China and promoting its convergence with the international teacher training discourse system. This research finds that, compared with other countries, the academic value of teacher training in China has not been paid enough attention to;the focus of domestic and international researches differs in that domestic scholars pay more attention to macro-level policy-guided researches on teacher training and other countries focusing more on micro-level exploration;the research methodology of domestic teacher training is relatively homogeneous, while foreign countries present a more diversified and advanced degree of qualitative and quantitative research methods.Based on the findings, there are three suggestions for the future teacher training development:to raise the importance of academic value of teacher training,to emphasize research based on programs and their effectiveness, and to develop diversified empirical research paradigms.
