Study on Interface Mechanical Behavior and Bearing Capacity of Steel-Steel Hoop
Steel hoops are often used in construction supports and jacking works. In order to under-stand the friction and slip properties of the interface between the steel hoop and the hooped compo-nent,analyze the bearing capacity of the steel hoop and its main influencing factors, the experimental study of 3 groups including 10 steel hoop specimens was conducted.Combining with the verified nu-merical model, the distribution of shear stress on the surface of hooped steel pipe, the relationship be-tween relative interface slip and friction stress, the law of bearing capacity of steel hoops changing with pretightening force of bolts, and the hoop failure mode were deeply studied by the 3 main influ-ence factors, including different pretightening forces of bolts, whether rubber cushion is set at the in-terface between the hoop and the hooped steel pipe, and changing hoop size. The theoretical formula of bearing capacity of the steel hoop and the law between interface friction stress and slip are put for-ward.The results indicate that pretightening force of bolt is an important factor to control the bearing capacity of the hoop. The hoop bearing capacity increases linearly with the increase of pretightening force of bolt. The shear rigidity of interface and the bearing capacity of the hoops are reduced by the interfacial rubber cushion, but the value of interface slip increases during the limit failure is improved.Under the same conditions, shear stress of interface is mainly changed owing to the size change of the steel hoop, which not nearly influenced the overall bearing capacity of steel hoop.
