As an important material carrier of Chinese clan culture,genealogy is not only a comprehensive record of clan blood breeding,deeds of people and ethnic group migration,but also an effective tool to inherit clan collective memory.It is of great signifi-cance to strengthen clan collective identity,inherit excellent Chinese moral culture and provide historical materials for academic re-search.However,the construction of contemporary genealogy culture still faces challenges such as scattered collection of genealogy literature,high threshold for readers to read and lack of consensus on value identification.Based on this,this paper takes Zhoushan genealogy as a typical case,and puts forward the reconstruction and release path of contemporary genealogy culture value by compil-ing and printing a joint directory of genealogy,establishing a genealogy culture research center in eastern Zhejiang(Zhoushan),start-ing a genealogy culture research journal,and focusing on the construction of digital resources,aiming to tap the cultural value of ge-nealogy and promote the inheritance and development of Chinese culture.
