This study conducted an investigation of the foreign language linguistic landscape in 10 5A-rated tourist attractions in Shanxi Province.A total of 1528 valid language data were collected. The survey results revealed that over 70%of the attraction signs used at least one foreign language, with English dominating the linguistic landscape.Additionally, other foreign languages such as Ko-rean,Japanese,and Russian were also observed in use within the attractions. This reflects the success of creating internationalized at-tractions and improving the quality of foreign language services. However, there are still several challenges in the development of the foreign language linguistic landscape, including issues such as low translation quality, errors like mistranslation, omissions, machine translation, and multiple interpretations of single words.Furthermore, there are problems with signage design and layout, inconsistent translation of attraction names, and a lack of comprehensive planning. To address these concerns,it is recommended to revise the"Guidelines for Translating Foreign Languages in the Public Service Field"and collaborate with experts from local universities spe-cializing in languages and tourism.Regular research and improvement efforts should be undertaken, including the enhancement of for-eign language tourism materials such as brochures and foreign lan-guage-guided tours,in order to elevate overall foreign language ser-vice quality and international image.
