A Cognitive Analysis of Chinese Youth in the Philippines on Chinese Language Heritage
Chinese language education in the Philippines began at the end of the 19th century and has experienced more than 120 years.The establishment and development of Chinese education in the Philippines is closely related to the Chinese community in the Philippines.The article holds that the realization of cultural inheritance is an important mission of overseas Chinese education and runs through the whole process of the development of Chinese education.In the global multicultural perspective,Chinese education in the Philippines is faced with obvious practical difficulties.For example,the external language environment of the Chinese society is unfavorable,the awareness of Chinese protection has not been awakened,the enthusiasm of Chinese youth to inherit Chinese is not high,and the cultural identity needs to be strengthened.Through the discussion and analysis of these issues,combined with the cur-rent background of the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and the RCEP agreement,the paper finds the development op-portunities of Chinese language education in the Philippines in the future,and puts forward the development strategy of Chinese lan-guage inheritance in the new era.
