语言元功能视角下高校网页英译分析——以云南大学为例

随着"教育对外开放"和"一带一路"倡议的提出，高校国际化已成为中国高等教育发展中所要达成的重要目标，而各高校英文网页是教育外宣的重要门户。因此，高校网页英译就成为外宣翻译研究中的重点。该文以韩礼德提出的语言元功能为理论框架，评估云南大学中英网页平行文本的语言元功能对等情况，分析其英文网页中学校简介和新闻中所采用的翻译策略和技巧，并提出语言元功能角度的高校网页英译启示:就概念元功能，应对文本篇幅进行删减，文化特色词汇采用阐释译法;就人际元功能，应增译语气附加词，省译政治特色的补语;就语篇元功能，应对主位进行适当调整，增添衔接词。
The Analysis on the Translation of Universities'English Websites from the Perspective of Metafunction—A Case Study of Yunnan University
In line with the policy of education opening-up and the Belt and Road Initiative,the internationalization of universi-ties has become an important goal to be achieved in the development of higher education in China.The English websites of universi-ties are important portals for educational publicity.Therefore the quality of English translation of university websites is also a decisive factor during the process of.Thus,the English translation of university websites has become the focus of the research on publicity translation.Based on the metafunction linguistic theory,this paper evaluates the metafunction equivalence of parallel texts on Chinese and English websites in Yunnan University,analyzes the translation strategies and skills adopted in the introduction and news of English website,and finally puts forward suggestions for the English translation of Chinese university websites based on the theory.After analysis,the corresponding enlightenment is obtained:in terms of ideational metafunction,the text length should be shortened,the hermeneutic method should be adopted in vocabulary with cultural characteristics;in interpersonal metafunction,mood adjuncts should be added and words with political characteristics should be omitted;in textual metafunction,theme should be adjusted and co-hesive markers should be added.
