The Dual Interaction Between Media Culture and Children
Nowadays,we are facing an era of saturated electronic media with the expansion and proliferation of audio-visual im-ages.Visual culture accelerates the infiltration of small details in children's lives, and the interaction between media and children presents a distinct duality. On the one hand, due to the plasticity and immaturity of children, they are easily dominated by media for thinking and controlling their lives. The instantly acquired media compresses the construction process of children's experiences and undermines their natural nature. On the other hand, the media has transformed social production and life through its ability to spread, connect, organize, and innovate, and technology has provided external support for the scientific development of parenting and educa-tion,promoting children's learning and development. This article elaborates on the dual interaction between electronic media and chil-dren from the perspectives of media criticism and child centeredness, analyzes the disappearance of"traditional children"in the new environment, and proposes the concept of"new children"based on a positive perspective on children. It explores scientific and effec-tive methods to enhance children's media literacy, help them better adapt to the media era,and explore themselves.
